A recorded webcast by the Commissioner is now available to view on demand.

Commissioner Karen Cusack hosted the webcast and interactive Q&A for rural and regional health service providers, as well as anyone else wanting an overview of health complaints in Victoria.

She presented the webcast to around 70 participants across the state and covered the basics of complaint handling and an overview of recent changes in Victoria's health complaint laws, which include:

  • who can lodge complaints with us
  • what types of services we accept complaints about
  • our powers in resolving and investigating matters
  • a new code of conduct for general health services and complaint handling standards for all health services.

The HCC has now delivered around 40 information and training sessions across the state since opening on 1 February, 2017. This has been part of the Commissioner's commitment to spread the word about this free and impartial complaint resolution service.
